Bee-Clean is pleased to announce that we have successfully completed the 2026 ISSA Cleaning Industry Management Standard (CIMS) Green Building + Sustainability audit, officially achieving CIMS Sustainability Certification with Honors.
The achievement follows a comprehensive independent assessment of Bee-Clean’s management systems and green cleaning operations. The CIMS assessment examined not only our documented procedures but also how those procedures are put into practice, including through visits to several client locations across Canada.
Nearly Two Decades of CIMS Leadership
For Bee-Clean, this latest achievement continues a CIMS journey that began nearly two decades ago. Bee-Clean was one of the first Canadian organizations to achieve ISSA CIMS certification in 2007, establishing a longstanding commitment to independently verified management standards, quality service and continuous improvement.
CIMS Sustainability represents the continued evolution of that commitment. The Sustainability designation expands on the Green Building standard by looking beyond environmentally preferable products and equipment to broader sustainable operational practices, including policies, sourcing, training, environmental impact and environmental, social and governance (ESG) requirements.
“This certification shows that sustainability is not simply something we talk about—it is something we have built into the way we operate,” said Carolina Hernandez, Regional Director, Business Analytics/CSO. “What we put on paper can be seen in practice every day across our sites.”
“This certification shows that sustainability is not simply something we talk about—it is something we have built into the way we operate.”
Supporting Our Customers’ Sustainability Goals
That commitment also extends to the work Bee-Clean does alongside our customers. Green cleaning programs can help support clients pursuing their own building and sustainability certifications while contributing to healthier, more environmentally responsible facilities.
“We are helping our clients with their sustainability goals while also supporting our own mission and vision as an organization,” said Carolina.
A Company-Wide Commitment
Achieving CIMS Sustainability Certification with Honors was a company-wide effort. Preparing for the assessment brought together teams from across Bee-Clean to review our policies, procedures, training, health and safety practices, service delivery and other operational systems.
“CIMS is more than an industry credential—it is independent validation that the systems behind our service meet an established industry standard,” said Eva Fabian-Orban, Director of Health, Safety and Environment for Bee-Clean Alberta.
The value of that collaboration extends well beyond the certification audit itself.
“Each audit is an opportunity for our team to come together, challenge ourselves and demonstrate that quality, safety and sustainability are practices we can substantiate,” said Eva.
Looking Ahead
Achieving CIMS Sustainability Certification with Honors provides our customers with credible third-party validation of Bee-Clean’s commitment to delivering clean, healthy facilities while operating responsibly and sustainably. Internally, the standard provides another important framework for accountability, consistency and continuous improvement.
“We never simply achieve it and move on,” said Eva. “Recertification takes place every two years, requiring organizations to demonstrate to an independent assessor that their systems continue to meet the standard. That ongoing process keeps us looking forward.”
From being among the first Canadian organizations to achieve CIMS certification in 2007 to earning CIMS Sustainability Certification with Honors in 2026, Bee-Clean’s CIMS journey reflects an enduring commitment to raising standards and continuously improving how we serve our customers, our employees and the communities in which we operate.
We extend a sincere thank you to everyone across Bee-Clean who contributed their time, knowledge and expertise throughout the certification process. We also thank the ISSA team for their guidance and support in achieving this certification.
