Bee-Clean Building Maintenance is Canada’s largest Canadian-owned janitorial company, providing service to clients on a national and local level. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Area Supervisor to join our team. The Area Supervisor will be pivotal in supervising multiple sites, maintaining strong client relationships, and leading our operations team to deliver top-tier cleaning services. Reporting directly to the Area Manager, this position offers an excellent opportunity for career advancement within a diverse and growing company.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assign janitorial duties to staff and conduct regular inspections to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Work alongside janitorial staff to ensure thorough station cleaning during the night, utilizing small auto-scrubbers and swing machines.
  • Issue cleaning supplies and equipment to janitorial staff as needed, manage inventory, and inform management of supply needs.
  • Conduct beginning-of-shift meetings and hold health and safety meetings and toolbox talks.
  • Assist in screening and hiring new job applicants as required, providing training and guidance to janitorial staff.
  • Resolve conflicts between janitorial staff efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend meetings and in-service training sessions as required.
  • Perform janitorial duties as necessary in instances of staff shortages.
  • Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Comfortable operating small auto-scrubbers and swing machines.
  • Stamina to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable working in a client-facing role and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of supervision experience, preferably in a building maintenance or hospitality setting.
  • Extensive experience in a fast-paced client-facing environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications.
  • Experience managing the schedules and performance of hourly employees.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Class 5 Driving License and a willingness to travel
