Papsay Bee-Clean

About Papasay Bee-Clean

Through their membership in the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business (CCIB), Papasay was able to formulate a relationship with a fellow CCIB member, Canada’s largest janitorial company, Bee-Clean Building Maintenance. In 2015, a Partnership Agreement was signed between Papasay and Bee-Clean, forming a new company, “Papasay Bee-Clean,” with Papasay as the 51% majority owner.

The new entity works with large companies contracting opportunities throughout Ontario. The benefits to Papasay include employment for any Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek (BNA) members wherever they reside throughout Canada, as well as a revenue stream to the corporation for contracts won through the partnership. Bee-Clean has local infrastructure in the Thunder Bay region with a regional office, which houses our management, administrative, human resources, and safety personnel.

About Papasay

Bingwi Neyaashi Anishinaabek (BNA) recognized many years ago the importance of separating politics from business and economic development initiatives. Therefore, Papasay Management Corporation was set up in 2009 to manage the business affairs of the community, and operate at arms-length from the political leadership of the First Nation.

Papasay has a Board of Directors made up of a mix of community members, and people with expert backgrounds in a variety of sectors. In 2017, Papasay was re-structured to ensure more community members were active on the Board. Through a community vote at the AGM, the Board was reduced from 6 to 5 members, 3 of which are currently BNA members. Papasay meetings are held monthly, where business is conducted through consensus, and with a quorum of 3 when necessary.

The purpose of Papasay is to carry out the business operations of the First Nation in a transparent manner, with the goals of creating employment opportunities for BNA members and revenue generation for the First Nation and its developments.

We invite you to visit Papasay’s official homepage to find out more about Papasay Management Corp.
