Multi-Year Accessibility Plan

This 2014-21 accessibility plan outlines the commitment through actions, policies, and procedures that Bee-Clean will put in place to improve opportunities for people with disabilities. Unless noted otherwise, such actions, policies, and procedures are effective immediately.

Statement of Commitment


Bee-Clean is committed to treating all people in a way that allows them to maintain their dignity and independence. Bee-Clean firmly believes in integration and equal opportunity. We are committed to meeting the needs of people with disabilities in a timely manner, and will do so by preventing and removing barriers to accessibility and meeting accessibility requirements under the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act.

Accessible Emergency Information


Bee-Clean is committed to providing our customers and clients with publicly available emergency information in an accessible way, upon request. We will also provide employees with disabilities with individualized emergency response information, when necessary.

Employment


Bee-Clean is committed to fair and accessible employment practices.  Bee-Clean will accommodate people with disabilities during the recruitment and assessment processes and when people are hired. More specifically:

  1. Bee-Clean will develop the necessary policies and procedures and take the necessary measures to develop and put in place a formal process for developing individual accommodation plans and return-to-work policies for employees that have been absent due to a disability This will be completed by January 1, 2016.
  2. Bee-Clean will develop the necessary policies and procedures and take the necessary measures to ensure the accessibility needs of employees with disabilities are taken into account if we ever develop and implement formal performance management, career development and redeployment processes. This will completed by January 1, 2016.
  3. Bee-Clean will take the necessary steps and measures to prevent and remove other accessibility barriers identified. This will be completed as stipulated in the legislation.

Training


Bee-Clean will provide training to our employees on the applicable Ontario accessibility laws and on the Human Rights Code as it relates to people with disabilities. Training will be provided in a way that best suits the duties of our employees.

Bee-Clean will take all the necessary steps and measures to ensure employees are provided with the training needed to meet Ontario’s accessible laws by January 1, 2015.

Kiosks


Bee-Clean does not currently use self-serve kiosks. However, when implemented, Bee-Clean will take the necessary steps and measures in the future to ensure we are in compliance with this legislation by considering the needs of people with disabilities when designing, procuring or acquiring self-service kiosks.

Information and Communications


Bee-Clean is committed to meeting the communication needs of people with disabilities. We will consult with people with disabilities to determine their information and communication needs. More specifically:

  1. Bee-Clean will take the necessary steps to make all new websites and content on those sites conform with WCAG 2.0, Level A.
  2. Bee-Clean will ensure that all necessary steps are taken to make all websites and content conform with WCAG 2.0, Level AA by January 1, 2021.
  3. Bee-Clean currently has a Customer Service Feedback process and has taken all the necessary steps and measures to ensure we are in compliance with this legislation. This includes making the feedback process accessible to people with disabilities, upon request. The feedback process will specify the actions that Bee-Clean will take if a complaint is received. Finally, we will also make information about the process readily available to the public. Bee-Clean all has a similar Feedback process for employees and again Bee-Clean has taken all the necessary steps and measures to ensure we are in compliance with this legislation. This includes making the feedback process accessible to people with disabilities, upon request. Bee-Clean will also make information about the process readily available to the public.
  4. Bee-Clean is a private company. However, it will take the required and necessary steps to make sure all our publicly available information is made accessible, upon request, by January 1, 2016.
